IMPORANT MESSAGE FROM DR. LOIS DOW
From: Lois Dow [mailto:loikful@hotmail.com]

Subject: Important info on Tues quiz
Importance: High
Hello everybody,
Please note that when learning the principal parts of ἳστημι it is important for you to get the breathing marks right, because they are important in recognizing the forms. Rough on places with reduplication (1st, 4th, 5th principal parts) and smooth on places with augment (3rd, 6th). I will be taking off marks for wrong breathing marks on this verb.
Secondly, make sure you learn and supply on the test two aorist active forms (1st Aorist and 2nd Aorist) in the 3rd Principal part slot for this verb. Remember, the 1st aorist is transitive (I caused to stand) and the 2nd aorist is intransitive (I stood).

Here is a nice chart and examples of imperatives from Jim Dvorak, the other teacher who is guinea-pigging this textbook.
Note that the PrAImp2S ἔγειρε is always found with intransitive meaning in the NT. It does not mean "raise" as you would expect, but "rise."
